Nicholas Turkeys Receives Pioneer Award

The California Poultry Federation honored Nicholas Turkeys with its Pioneer Award at the 2015 Annual Conference.

The Pioneer Award honors a man, woman and/or company in "recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedication to California's dynamic poultry industry." This year, CPF honored the leader of the world's turkey breeding and production, Nicholas Turkey Breeding Farms. Today, owned by Aviagen Turkeys, Nicholas is still the name synonymous with quality, integrity, strength and leadership. In its 75 year history, Nicholas Turkey Breeding Farms, now Aviagen Turkeys, has seen tremendous change. The industry has grown from a few backyard flocks of bronze turkeys to today's modern poultry farms.  Nicholas has been an instrumental part of that change by keeping the core principles of genetic breeding. Accepting the award on behalf of Nicholas and Aviagen Turkeys was Jihad Douglas, president.
