Next Nest Welcomes John Menges to Turkey Technical Team

We are pleased to welcome John Menges to the Next Nest turkey technical team.  John is one of the most passionate turkey specialists in our industry.  He is vocal about turkey welfare and the desire for continuous turkey performance improvement.  His customer-focused mindset and desire to help provide solutions to the turkey industry will be valuable assets for our team. John’s experience and passion will help drive Next Nest’s momentum as it grows and expands hatchery technology.

John spent the last few years with Best Vet Solutions (BVS).  His decades of turkey experience were built by working in PA, VA and with turkey growers across the country. He spent years of his career in turkey barns, observing, learning and making needed changes to grow the best turkeys.

This extensive experience and close relationship with the industry has prepared John to lead our technical team to first research how to best prepare barns for birds already eating and drinking, and then will help educate the industry to execute the best practices he uncovers. “John was a perfect fit when looking to grow our team because of his past experience and professional goals that aligned with our company goals of improving animal welfare, enhancing poult performance and positively impacting our customer’s bottom line,” said Peter Gruhl.

Next Nest Hatching is bringing the turkey industry the first ever commercial poult hatching equipment with immediate access to feed, water and light. Life-Science Innovations, the owner of start-up Next Nest, has been a part of the turkey industry for over 75 years as is absolutely committed to bringing positive technical change to the turkey industry and value to our partners and customers. Early nutrition for poults will trigger opportunities and challenges up and down the supply chain, and John is part of our commitment to ensure our customers retain maximum value from their investment.
